A short introduction on CIMA. CIMA is a leading membership body that offers an internationally recognised professional qualification in management accounting, which focuses on accounting for business.
I have enrolled and submitted my qualification to see how many subjects I'm exempted. I'm exempted the whole of Certificate in Business Accounting consist of 5 subjects. Therefore still have Professional Qualification which has 2 parts, The Managerial level and Strategic level. Managerial level is 6 papers whereas Strategic level consist of 3 papers . Lastly will be the final paper which is called TOPCIMA. The Test of Professional Competence in Management Accounting (TOPCIMA) – one exam based on a case study. So that's a total of 10 papers left as compare to ACCA which is 8 papers. Having struggling with ACCA for few years, I really feel like giving up. Maybe CIMA will be a better choice for me since I'm not working in a professional line. Having no knowledge on audit, it might be difficult for me to tackle the questions. But if I go for CIMA, I might not be able to find suitable school in Singapore as there's not much provider. Therefore I will need to complete before leaving London or have to extend my stay which means I wont be back home so soon.
